AAP Hits Out At The BJP Government At the Centre On Soaring Petrol Prices

New Delhi:The AamAadmi Party (AAP) on Monday criticized the Central government for the price hike in petrol and diesel. It said that it "adversely" affected the livelihood of the common man.The people of the country felt "cheated" by the NarendraModi government in the wake of the increased prices of petrol and diesel.

AAP's chief spokesperson SaurabhBhardwaj said, the prices of petrol on Monday stood at Rs 84.07 per litre in Mumbai, Rs 79.13 per litre in Chennai, Rs 78.91 per litre in Kolkata and Rs 76.24 per litre in Delhi. These were the highest petrol prices under the current BJP dispensation, while the price of diesel touched a high of Rs 65.65 per litre.

India-Russia Vow To Work For A Multi-Polar World In Sochi

New Delhi:India and Russia decided to step up economic cooperation and intensify consultation. After the meeting in the Black Sea resort of Sochi between Prime Minister NarendraModi and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday both the leaders vowed to strengthen their relationship and work towards a strong multi-polar world in a day-long informal summit.

Modi said the “strategic partnership” between the two countries had grown into a “special privileged strategic partnership”, which was a “very big achievement” in itself. Modi and Putin also took a boat ride from Bocharev Creek to Olympic Park in Sochi after the meeting to have more time to discuss bilateral ties. The talks at Putin’s BocharovRuchei residence lasted for more than three hours.

Pakistan Rangers ‘Pleaded’ With The BSF To Stop Firing Along International Border

New Delhi: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday said that the Pakistan Rangers ‘pleaded’ with them to stop firing along the International Border (IB) after being pounded with heavy artillery that also left a trooper dead across the border.

The border guarding force also released a 19-second thermal-imagery footage showing the destruction of a Pakistani picket across the border in retaliation to the unprovoked firing and shelling along the IB."(Pakistan) Rangers called up Jammu BSF formation today and beseeched to stop firing," a BSF spokesperson said.

BSP Declares Mayawati’s Residence As Kanshiram Memorial

New Delhi:The BahujanSamajParty claimed that Mayawati’s residence was a memorial to party founder Kanshi Ram.On the other hand, SP chiefAkhileshYadav has sought permission to stay for two more years citing security reasons.Days after notices were served to six former UP chief ministers to vacate their government bungalows in Lucknow in consonance with a Supreme Court order.

In support of the BSP’s claim, a board describing the sprawling bungalow of Mayawati as Sri KanshiramJiYadgarVishramSthal was put up on the boundary wall of the premises at 13A Mall Avenue on Monday.Till Sunday, the bungalow was the four-time UP chief minister’s official residence.

The development came after the estate department issued notices on May 17, asking the ex-CMs to vacate the bungalows within 15 days.As Mayawati was in Delhi, her staff received the order in Lucknow. A senior BSP leader said she occupied a few rooms in the memorial and she will vacate them and shift to the nearby bungalow number 9 that she had purchased in 2010.

China Starts Large-Scale Mining On Its Side Of The Border With Arunachal

New Delhi:A mine project is being undertaken in Lhunzecounty under the Chinese control adjacent to the Indian border. China has begun large-scale mining operations on its side of the border with Arunachal Pradesh where a huge trove of gold, silver and other precious minerals valued at about $60 billion has been found. China claims Arunachal Pradesh as part of southern Tibet.

Projecting the mining operations as part of China's move to take over Arunachal Pradesh, the report said "people familiar with the project say the mines are part of an ambitious plan by Beijing to reclaim South Tibet".

"China's moves to lay claim to the region's natural resources while rapidly building up infrastructure could turn it into 'another South China Sea' they said," it said.
