New Delhi:A special NIA court remanded Dukhtaran-e-Millatchief AsiyaAndrabiand two others to 10 days custody.AsiyaAndrabi, chief of the Kashmiri women’s separatist group (DEM, and two of her associates were arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for allegedly advocating the secession of Jammu and Kashmir and the use of violence against India.

Government officials said on condition of anonymity that the move was among recommendations made at a security review meeting held in New Delhi on March 3 that was chaired by National Security Advisor AjitDoval and attended by home secretary Rajiv Gauba, Intelligence Bureau director Rajiv Jain, NIA director YC Modi, J&K police chief SP Vaid and additional director general (law and order) Munir Ahmed Khan.

Court Allows ED To Place On Record Documents In Support Of Charge Sheet Against Karti

New Delhi:In the Aircel-Maxis money laundering case against Karti Chidambaram son of former Union Minister P Chidambaram, a Delhi court allowed the Enforcement Directorate to place on record voluminous documents running into around 3,600 pages in support of its charge sheet against junior Chidambaram.

Special Judge O P Saini posted the matter for July 31 when it will decide on whether to take cognisance of the charge sheet against Karti Chidambaram.After the application moved by special public prosecutors -- senior advocate Sonia Mathur and advocates N K Matta and NiteshRana -- was allowed, the agency filed the documents.

The ED has also mentioned the name of former union minister Chidambaram at various places in the charge sheet. However, he has not been arrayed as an accused in the probe report.

Police Questions Self-Styled God-Women Geeta Mata For About Two Hours In Burari Mass Death Case

New Delhi:The police are questioning the relatives, neighbours and employees of the Buradifamily. More than 100 people have been quizzed so far. This is an attempt to unravel the mystery behind the deaths of 11 members of the family, the Delhi Police has questioned their employees, including a mason who had installed 11 pipes at their house and his daughter.

The police also questioned Geeta, who according to some reports was the "self-styled god-woman" Lalit had met, for about two hours on Friday. Geeta is the daughter of the mason who had fixed the 11 pipes, the police said.

According to the reports, Lalit had met Geeta recently, and he had told her that he would meet her again on July 10. Geeta told the police she had nothing to do with the deaths. "The only link Geeta has with the family is that she is the daughter of the mason. She told police she had never met Lalit," the officer said. The police are yet to solve the mystery of the pipes - all 11 of them protruding from a wall facing an empty plot, where there was no water outlet.

BJP MP Says, Christians Did Not Contribute To The Freedom Struggle

New Delhi:GopalShetty,a BJP member of Parliament from Maharashtra, has provoked anger with his comment that ‘Christians did not contribute to the freedom struggle.’

"India was not freed by Hindus...India was not freed by Muslims, we fought as one for our independence. Christians were angrez (British), so they didn't participate in India's freedom struggle," he can be heard as saying in a video.

Shetty, 64, is the MP representing Mumbai North in Parliament. He made the controversial remark while addressing a gathering for Eid-e-Miladorganised by the Shia Kabrastan Committee in Mumbai on Sunday. The Congress seized on the comments and demanded Shetty's resignation, calling him a repeat offender.

Tejashwi Yadav Says, Nitish Kumar Not Needed In The RJD-Led Grand Alliance

New Delhi:Rashtriya Janata Dal leader and former minister in the Nitish Kumar government Tejashwi Yadav takes on Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar by saying that if Nitish Kumar takes retirement from politics then RJD can join JD (U). He asserted that Kumar is not needed in the RJD-led grand alliance.

Tejashwi, while addressing the party workers on RJD's foundation day programme asked them to be prepared for simultaneous Lok Sabha and Bihar Assembly polls.

While frequently referring to Kumar as "Nitish chacha (uncle)", Tejashwi made his stand on him clear. "If Nitish chacha is accepted in the grand alliance, then there will be no bigger opportunist than Tejashwi Yadav. Forgive us, uncle, the grand alliance just does not need you". "I don't want to be the CM because of someone's favour. I will be the CM if people of the state bless me," Tejashwi Yadav said.
