New Delhi: The Kerala police have registered a case against Missionaries of Jesus congregation for revealing the identity and photo of the nun who accused Jalandhar Bishop Franco Mullakkal of raping her.
The case was registered by the Kuravilangadu police station in Kottayam district on the complaint filed by the alleged victim’s brother, officials said.
New Delhi: The number of visits from political bigwigs has gone up as election season nears in Rajasthan. Both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress leaders are visiting the state. After a day-long visit to Jaipur on September 11, BJP president Amit Shah is all set to address party workers in five districts of Rajasthan during his three-day tour from September 16. Congress president Rahul Gandhi will also visit the state on September 20.
After giving a pep talk to party leaders, office bearers and workers in Jaipur division on Tuesday, Shah will now be heading towards the crucial Jodhpur and Udaipur divisions to motivate party functionaries and review poll preparedness.
New Delhi: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that he would never accept any invitation from the RSS to participate in any event held by the organisation as it represents Hindu nationalism.
The Hyderabad Lok Sabha MP was reacting the invitation being extended by RSS to various leaders for a three-day lecture series of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, scheduled to be held in New Delhi next week.
The RSS has indicated that it would invite Congress president Rahul Gandhi, CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury and the leaders of all the political outfits of different ideologies besides religious leaders, sportspersons, media personalities and ambassadors of more than 60 countries.
New Delhi: A senior Congress functionary said that the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has been demanding 50 seats in Madhya Pradesh and 15 in Chhattisgarh. The Congress and the BSP are trying to resolve the deadlock over the sharing of seats in the upcoming assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
The Congress is willing to give 20-22 seats in Madhya Pradesh and seven to nine in Chhattisgarh, but is keen to have a seat-sharing agreement with the BSP to oust the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has ruled both states for the past 15 years.
New Delhi: Rajasthan Congress president Sachin Pilot questioned the BJP leaders for ignoring the state for five years hitting out at Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje.
“In the election year, she is taking out Gaurav Yatra, BJP president Amit Shah is visiting the state but where were they for nearly five years? The BJP rules the Centre as well as Rajasthan, but the condition of the state has deteriorated. It raises the question on what gaurav (pride) is Raje celebrating,” Pilot said.
