New Delhi: French space agency CNES chief Jean-Yves Le Gall has said that India and France have planned launch of8 to 10 satellites as part of a “constellation” for maritime surveillance. This will be India’s largest space cooperation with any country.
They added that the launch of 8-10 maritime surveillance satellites will focus on the Indian Ocean, a region that has been witnessing increasing Chinese presence.
New Delhi: Revenue officials in collusion with the bank employees have been alleged to be involved in grave case of misappropriation of funds. The matter relates to the Nanpara Tehsil of Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh for the financial year 2015-16 when the then incumbent state government had released around 1200 bank cheques amounting to almost 40 lakh rupees for the poor people who have been affected by flood in the adjacent areas.
New Delhi: A statute panel that has studied Doklam standoff between India and China last year praised the government for its “overall handling” of the crisis however it cautioned that Chinese infrastructure “built uncomfortably” close to the tri-junction with Bhutan had not yet been dismantled.
The standing committee on external affairs headed by Congress leader Shashi Tharoor submitted the report on Sino-India relations, including Doklam, to Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan on September 4. The report is publicly available. The committee also includes Congress president Rahul Gandhi.
New Delhi: The BJP in Rajasthan has come out with a “constituency-specific strategy” in Rajasthan to improve on its chances of victory just two months before assembly elections.
The party has segregated 200 assembly constituencies of the state into three categories — A, B and C. The first category includes BJP strongholds where the party is confident of victory. The second category includes seats that could go either way and the third category includes those constituencies where the party is weak.
New Delhi: Bhim Army founder Chandrashekhar announced his support for the opposition alliance and sounded a conciliatory note with Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati calling her his aunt. He was released from Saharanpur jail on Friday.
The Uttar Pradesh government had ordered Chandrashekhar’s immediate release on Thursday citing a plea by his mother 15 months after he was detained under the National Security Act (NSA) from Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh for a series of clashes in Saharanpur in May 2017 that left one person dead and many injured.
