New Delhi: Congress president Rahul Gandhi accused Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan of following in the Centre’s footsteps and making thousands “hollow promises” that he hadn’t kept. The Congress president launched his party’s campaign in the state with a stinging attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister.

Gandhi had a Sachin Tendulkar analogy in his barb. When Sachin Tendulkar, the prolific run-scorer across all formats of cricket, came on the pitch, the Congress president said, everyone knew that he would score runs for the country and was known as a run-making machine.

New Delhi: Before Election Commission of India takes any call on Telengana polls, the Congress has alleged that there is around 70 lakh discrepancies in the voter list in Telangana. It said that any election held on flawed and inaccurate electoral rolls would be a fraud with the people of the country.

The party has also sought the Election Commission’s intervention in the “strongest possible manner”, Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said. The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in the state dissolved the Telangana assembly prematurely to swing elections in their favour by “manipulating” the voter list, he alleged.

New Delhi: Speaking on the inauguration of the second edition of ‘Paryatan Parv’, Union home minister Rajnath asserted that India is full of cultural diversity but yet it is unbreakable and it is being developed as a tourist destination. Paryatan Parv is being held across the country to promote tourist sites, especially among domestic travelers.

The event is being organised by the Tourism Ministry with the objective of drawing focus on the benefits of tourism, showcasing the cultural diversity of the country and reinforcing the principle of “tourism for all”.

New Delhi: The Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) has put into orbit two UK earth observation satellite as PSLV C42 lifted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota and injected two UK satellites into “a very precise” orbit” after 17 minutes 44 seconds.

“I am extremely happy that the PSLV-C42 precisely launched two of our customer satellites at 583 km orbit. This was a unique night mission executed for the first time by us.The PSLV has proven yet again as a user-friendly vehicle in all aspects,” said K Sivan, chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation.
