New Delhi: BJP national president Amit Shah said that his party would seek to identify illegal immigrants living in the country if it comes to power after the Lok Sabha polls. He alleged that Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal care for them for vote bank politics.

He said at a rally in New Delhi that illegal infiltrators are also causing trouble in the national capital, and likened them to termites, action against whom should not worry any patriot.

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) believes that the Bahujan Samaj Party’s (BSP) decision to forge an alliance with former chief minister, Ajit Jogi, in Chhattisgarh is a reflection of the contradictions that will emerge both while forming a grand alliance in Uttar Pradesh. The BSP has unilaterally announced 22 candidates for Madhya Pradesh and is still talking of carving out a national alternative to the BJP.

This will weaken the Congress further and improve the BJP’s prospects, they added. The BSP was in talks with the Congress in both the states.

New Delhi: The Congress leaders believe that there is still a chance for the Congress and Bbahujan Samaj Party coming together to reach an understanding for the remaining seats in the state. BSP chief Mayawati already announced first list of 22 seats for the upcoming assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh.

BSP’s list of 22 constituencies came soon after Mayawati’s announcement of a tie-up with former chief minister Ajit Jogi’s Janata Congress for the assembly elections in the Chhattisgarh, indicating that talks of an alliance with the Congress in that state had collapsed.

New Delhi: Speaking in response to Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s statement, Minister of state for social justice and empowerment Ramdas Athawale said that states have “no powers” to alter central laws. The MP CM said that there will be no arrests without investigation in cases registered under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Prevention of Atrocities Act (POA) to prevent its “misuse”.
