Aadhaar Mandatory To Avail Benefits Of AB-PMJAY For The Second Time

New Delhi: According to a top official, Aadhaar is not mandatory to avail benefits of the recently-launched Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) for the first time but will be compulsory for those seeking treatment under the scheme for the second time.

In case the Aadhaar number is not available, beneficiaries have to at least provide documents to prove that they have enrolled for the 12-digit unique identity number, said Indu Bhushan, CEO of the National Health Agency, responsible for implementing the PMJAY.

New Delhi: Army chief General Bipin Rawat asserted that India follows an independent policy and was also keen on getting the Kamov helicopters and other weapon systems from the Moscow. Amid fears of US sanctions over the S-400 deal with Russia.

India and Russia on Friday signed a multi-billion-dollar deal to procure the S-400 Triumf air defence system, which could attract sanctions under the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA). The act is primarily aimed at countering Russia, Iran and North Korea.

Rohingya Fearing More Deportation After Seven Of Them Sent To Myanmar

New Delhi: The fear of being deported has started gripping Rohingya hours after Indian TV channels flashed that the country was deporting seven Rohingya Muslims to Myanmar. Sahidullah said he received a call from his nephew: “Uncle, please get us out of here. They will send us back too.”

Sahidullah, a Rohingya living in the far north of India after fleeing what he called persecution in Buddhist-majority Myanmar in 2010, said his relative, Sadiur Rahman, 40, was lodged in one of several detention centres for illegal immigrants in the distant northeastern state of Assam.

Court Orders Interim Stay On WB Government’s Decision To Pay Grant To Durga Puja Committees

New Delhi: Attempt of Mamata Banerjee to break the image of only appeasing Muslims has hit a road block when Calcutta High Court ordered an interim stay on the West Bengal government’s decision to pay a grant of Rs 10,000 to each of the 28,000 Durga Puja committees in the state.

The bench of acting chief justice Debasish Kar Gupta and justice Shampa Sarkar ordered the stay till October 9, by when the state government will have to file an affidavit clarifying points raised by the court.
