Mayawati Demands Action Against Union Minister M J Akbar on #MeToo allegations

New Delhi: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati said that around a dozen women charged Union minister M J Akbar with sexual exploitation, misconduct and harassment but, “instead of coming clean over the accusation, the minister is trying to give it a political colour”. The BSP chief demanded action against him.

Supporting the #MeToo Movement, she said it has provided a platform and courage to the working women in various fields to raise their voice against sexual exploitation and misconduct. “The BJP leaders are acting as mute spectators to this serious issue, but the people will not forgive them for this,” she added.

Satya Pal Malik Takes Up The Issue Of Well-Being Of Kashmiri Students In AMU

New Delhi: In view of recent clashes over the killing of terrorist Mannan Wani, Jammu and Kashmir governor Satya Pal Malik said that his administration has taken up the issue of the well-being of Kashmiri students studying in Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) with the Uttar Pradesh government.

The governor’s assertion came a day after three Kashmiri students of AMU were booked on sedition charges for allegedly raising “anti-India” slogans and trying to hold a funeral prayer meeting for Hizbul Mujahideen militant Manan Bashir Wani on October 12.

Amit Shah Promises To Expel Every Infiltrator From Country After Winning 2019 LS Election

New Delhi: National president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Amit Shah said that the BJP government will expel every infiltrator from the country after winning the 2019 Lok Sabha election. He alleged that infiltrators were the vote bank for the Congress, Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). But for the BJP it was an issue of national security.

Shah was addressing a BJP’s booth level workers meeting at Hoshangabad, 70 kilometers south of Bhopal. He is on a two-day tour to Madhya Pradesh.

Pilot Says, Congress Will Not Make False Promises In Its Manifesto For Assembly Elections

New Delhi: The Congress that has edge over the Assembly elections in the Rajasthan, state Congress president Sachin Pilot said that unlike the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Congress will not make false promises in its manifesto for the upcoming assembly election in the state.

He said that the party will take feedback of all stakeholders across the state and the suggestions would be given to the election manifesto committee to incorporate them.

Congress will not make false promises, tell lies and create confusion of statistics in the election manifesto, Pilot said at a press conference after a marathon meeting of party’s election coordination committee here.
