New Delhi: Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will emerge the number one party in the state and Centre in 2019 with or without its ally Shiv Sena.

Fadnavis said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will try to form an alliance with the Sena, for both the Lok Sabha and state assembly polls next year, and given the political reality, such a tie-up will fall in place. But, he added even if the alliance falls apart, the BJP was already prepared and would emerge winner.

Madhya Pradesh CM’s Jan Ashirwad Yatra Ends Abruptly At Jabalpur Without Meeting Its Target

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) much-touted Jan Ashirwad Yatra-led by Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan ended at Jabalpur without meeting its target of covering all 230 assembly constituencies in Madhya Pradesh.

Though there was no official announcement from the BJP, one of the organisers of the yatra said it was terminated because just one was month left for November 28 polls and chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who was leading the yatra, was finding it difficult to find time for important meetings to decide candidates, manifesto and strategy.

Madras HC Reserves Order On Petitions Filed By Maran Brothers In Illegal Exchange Case

New Delhi: In the alleged illegal telephone exchange case, the Madras High Court has reserved its order on the petitions filed by Maran brothers challenging the framing of charges against them and others by a Central Board of Investigation court.

Justice AD Jagadish Chandira reserved the order following conclusion of arguments. A CBI court had in August framed charges and ordered trial of former Union telecom minister Dayanidhi Maran and others in the case of alleged setting up of “illegal” telephone exchanges to benefit the Sun TV Network of his elder brother Kalanithi Maran during 2004-06.

Special Judge R Vasanthi framed the charges over a month after the Madras High Court quashed the CBI court’s earlier order discharging all the accused. The Maran brothers have sought quashing of the charges against them.

Lalu Prasad Questions Narendra Modi Government’s Handling Of The CBI Issue

New Delhi: Former Union Railways minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad has attacked the Central government over the ugly spat between two top CBI officers leading to both of them being sent on leave. He questioned the Narendra Modi dispensation’s handling of the issue.

Prasad is serving jail sentences in a number of fodder scam cases going back to his tenure as the chief minister of undivided Bihar - pronounced by a CBI court in Ranchi. In a Tweet which has been pinned on his profile since December 25, 2017, Lalu has said that while in jail, his Twitter handle would be operated by his office in consultation with his family.

“A game is being played with the Constitution in the darkness of night at 2 A.M. Those who have cast an evil eye on the Constitution written by Baba Saheb will not be spared by the people,” the RJD supremo tweeted in Hindi on Wednesday.

Man Divorces His Wife For Putting On Weight; Husband Arrested By Madhya Pardesh Police

New Delhi: A man from Gujarat divorced his wife uttering talaq three times who allegedly started disliking his wife from Madhya Pradesh because of her weight and wanted her to become slim. He was arrested after an FIR was lodged by his wife Salma with Meghnagar police station in Jhabua, 341 kilometers south west of Bhopal.

A police team from Jhabua arrested the accused Arif Husain from his residence in Dahod district and brought him to Jhabua on Wednesday evening. The co-accused Husain Bano, mother of the accused is absconding, according to police.

Meghnagar police station town inspector Kushalsingh Rawat said the complainant, a resident of Shairani locality in Meghnagar was married to the accused 10 years back. She lodged an FIR on Tuesday alleging that her husband used to torture her physically and mentally for her putting on weight after her children were born and used to ask her to become slim.
