New Delhi: The Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are grappling with a different kind of rebellion when n Madhya Pradesh when a senior Congress leader’s son has filed nomination from a party that does not have any chance of winning election and he has support from his father. However, rebellion after ticket distribution has been a very common phenomenon for every political party.

Senior Congress leaders like Satyavrat Chaturvedi and former state Congress president Arun Yadav are not happy with the Congress’ ticket distribution in Madhya Pradesh. Nitin, Son of Chaturvedi, has filed nomination from Rajnagar Assembly constituency as the Samajwadi Party candidate. Yadav is not happy with Ravi Joshi being made Congress candidate from Khargone.

New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu gets the support of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) working president M K Stalin has extended his support to him. Naidu is meeting several leaders of various parties to build an opposition front against the BJP-led NDA ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

Naidu met Stalin, the leader of opposition in Tamil Nadu, at the latter’s residence in Chennai on Friday and discussed a range of issues for over an hour.

“Under the BJP rule at the Centre, states are losing their rights. Federal structure and democracy of the nation are facing a threat. I have been vocal on urging all the regional and federal forces to work together to remove BJP,” Stalin told reporters after coming out of the meeting.

New Delhi: Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) chief and Union minister of state for human resources Upendra Kushwaha said that anyone could become the chief minister of Bihar after the 2020 Bihar assembly elections. He has up the ante with this in the state.

“In a democracy, even a commoner can don the chair of chief minister. That is the beauty of democracy,” he told reporters at the RLSP office in Patna while announcing the party’s programmes from November 28, the death anniversary of Jyotirao Phule, a social activist, thinker and social reformer.

Kushwaha also made it clear that his party’s alliance was with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and not with Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United).

New Delhi: Skipping even Diwali celebrations at home, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader and Bihar’s former health minister Tej Pratap Yadav is giving his family anxious moments by not returning to Patna. A high drama was played out publicly over his decision to file for a divorce.

“I think, Tej Pratap is in Varanasi. He is probably introspecting and wants solitude,” said Rajya Sabha MP Misa, Tej Pratap’s eldest sister. Their father Lalu Prasad, chief of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and a former chief minister of Bihar, is in jail on corruption charges.

Misa was emphatic that “all is well within the family,” asserting that “too much of attention is being given to this divorce episode. It is a family matter and it will blow over.”
