UP govt orders probe into alleged purchase of land in Ayodhya by politicians, officials

The Uttar Pradesh government has ordered a probe into the alleged purchase of land within a five-kilometre radius of the proposed Ram temple in Ayodhya by politicians and government officials. First reported by a national daily, the allegations were also echoed in Parliament on Wednesday.

Taking note of the newspaper report, the UP government has now ordered a probe into the alleged purchase of land by politicians and government officials in Ayodhya.

An order to that effect was issued by Special Secretary (Revenue) Manoj Kumar Singh at the instructions of CM Yogi Adityanath. The chief minister sought a report in this regard in one week.

There have, however, been zero deaths due to the viral infection in this while, data showed.

Derek O'Brien suspended from Rajya Sabha. Trinamool leader sees pattern

Trinamool Congress leader Derek O'Brien was suspended from Rajya Sabha on Tuesday for the remaining Winter Session of the Parliament for 'unruly behaviour' in the House. The TMC MP was suspended after he allegedly threw the Rajya Sabha Rule Book towards the Chair during the discussion on Election Laws (Amendment Bill) 2021 on December 21.

This is not the first time Derek O'Brien has been suspended from the Upper House. The TMC leader was suspended for creating chaos in the House during the passing of the controversial farm laws that were repealed after months-long farmers' protests.

The prolonged legal battle among members of the Jaipur royal family over the Jai Mahal Palace Hotel and Rambagh Palace Hotel has finally come to an end after court-appointed mediator Justice (retd) Kurian Joseph brokered an amicable settlement.

According to the settlement, Devraj Singh and his sister Lalitya Kumari, the grandchildren of Maharani Gayatri Devi, will get back the heritage property, Jai Mahal Palace Hotel, from their step uncles while they will forfeit their stake in Rambagh Palace in favour of their uncles, the Times of India reported.
