In order to avoid crowding due to Christmas festivities, Sacred Heart Cathedral, which is Delhi’s one of the biggest churches, has closed its doors to common visitors.
Delhi Police have put up barricades and deployed personnel to disperse the crowd reaching the church.
The decision was taken by the Church management in coordination with the administration, keeping in view the spike in the Covid-19 cases and Omicron scare.
Meanwhile, Delhi reported 180 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, the highest since June 15.
