New JNU Vice Chancellor's note "exhibition of illiteracy", says BJP Leader

The new Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Vice Chancellor, Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit, takes charge under a harsh spotlight over a now-deleted Twitter handle filled with hate posts. Now grammatical mistakes in her first press release have been called out by many, including BJP MP Varun Gandhi. 

"This press release from the new JNU VC is an exhibition of illiteracy, littered with grammatical mistakes (would strive vs will strive; students friendly vs student-friendly; excellences vs excellence). Such mediocre appointments serve to damage our human capital and our youth's future," Varun Gandhi tweeted, sharing Santishree Pandit's statement.

Delhi Airport gets new terminal for domestic arrivals, passenger capacity now double

Domestic flyers arriving in Delhi will soon not have to bother about the peak hour struggles at the Indira Gandhi International airport. The airport operator, DIAL (Delhi International Airport Ltd), on Monday announced the completion of construction of the domestic arrival terminal, which they claimed will have enhanced passenger capacity.

Apart from area expansion, which is part of Delhi Airport’s phase 3A expansion project, the newly constructed terminal will have four new baggage reclaim carousels, increased seating and waiting areas and ample parking space to make sure that passenger movement remains smooth even during the peak hours.

Supertech Twin towers case: Supreme Court orders demolition within 2 weeks

The Supreme Court on February 7 directed the demolition of the 40-storey Supertech Twin Towers in Noida within two weeks.

The court also directed that Noida CEO convene a meeting of all concerned agencies, including GAIL, within 72 hours to finalise the schedule for the demolition of the twin towers.

"The CEO, Noida shall take all necessary steps for observing the directions of this court and the work of demolition shall commence no later than within a period of two weeks from the date of this order,” the bench comprising Justices DY Chandrachud and Surya Kant ordered.

Punjab: No rift in Congress, says Pargat Singh, 'Channi is CM face'

Denying the speculation that the announcement of Charanjit Singh Channi as the chief ministerial candidate could trigger “unrest” among supporters of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Navjot Singh Sidhu, senior leader and MLA from Doaba Pargat Singh said ‘Team Punjab Congress’ will put up a joint fight in the elections.

Talking to media during his campaign trail, Singh, a close associate of Navjot Singh Sidhu, denied a rift in the party. “It is the land of the gurus. Remaining united has been our forte. Be it any caste or religion, when it comes to the party’s interest, everybody is on board,” said Singh.
