Haryana: Safety audit of all buildings with structural damage, says CM Khattar

Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday directed the state government's town and country planning department (DTCP) to identify all residential buildings where RWAs report structural damage and initiate safety audits.

The move follows protests at Chintels Paradiso, where a vertical collapse of living rooms of five flats from the sixth to the second floors in one of its towers on February 10 led to the death of two residents, and outrage among residents of several other condominiums who have demanded structural audits of their complexes.

West Bengal: Primary students will return to school from 16 February

West Bengal government today allowed reopening schools from primary level onwards across the state from 16 February. The state school education department will issue a separate Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for conducting primary and upper primary classes in schools.

In view of the current pandemic situation, the government has issued a fresh set of relaxations this evening. From Wednesday onwards, night restriction has been relaxed by an hour and movement of people and vehicles has been prohibited from 12 to 5 am instead of 11 pm to 5 am.

Fodder scam case: Lalu Prasad Yadav reaches Ranchi, to appear before CBI court

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav reached Ranchi on Sunday. He will appear physically before a Special CBI court in a fodder scam case related to the illegal withdrawal of Rs 139.35 crore from Doranda Treasury.

The CBI Court is to pronounce final judgment in the case against Lalu Yadav and others on February 15.

On reaching Ranchi, party workers gave a rousing welcome to Lalu Yadav at the airport.

DDA to work on mobility plans for land pooling areas in Capital

Even as the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is struggling to operationalise the land pooling policy that was notified in 2018, the agency has decided to start work on preparing the mobility plan for areas that will be developed under the policy.

A senior DDA official said the land-owning agency is in the process of appointing a consultant to prepare the plan for mobility and a drainage network.

“The consultant will have to undertake a drone survey of the areas under land pooling and prepare a plan for city level road network in the zone. They will also have to carry our feasibility studies of the overall project and suggest ways to Integrate the proposed road network with the existing road network,” said a senior DDA official.

Punjab Assembly polls: Charanjit Singh Channi to lose from both seats, claims Arvind Kejriwal

AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday claimed Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi is losing from both constituencies in the February 20 assembly polls.

He alleged the Congress has become a "circus" and the people of Punjab would not vote for the grand old party.

Kejriwal claimed the Aam Aadmi Party conducted surveys thrice and in all of them it was ahead in both the seats.

Channi, the Congress's chief ministerial candidate, is contesting the polls from his home turf Chamkaur Sahib in Rupnagar and Bhadaur in Barnala.
