Towards women empowerment, UP CM Yogi Adityanath appoints women as tube-well operators

Carrying forward its commitment towards ‘Mission Rozgaar`, the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday, handed over appointment letters to 3209 tube-well operators, including 516 women.

"Tube-well operators play an important role in farming and it is historical that for the first time that women have been appointed for this post. Besides this, water conservation also forms an important part of their duties," Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said.

The CM, while handing over the appointment letters, said that it is for the first time that the youth are getting government jobs in UP without recommendations and favoritism.

High court tells Delhi government to check reservation of 80pc ICU beds in pvt hospitals for Covid-19

The Delhi high court on Wednesday asked the Delhi government to review its order of reserving 80 % ICU beds in 33 private hospitals of the city for Covid-19.

Justice Navin Chawla turned down the request of the Delhi government’s additional standing counsel Sanjoy Ghose, who had sought that the matter be listed after 10 days for better review of the situation. He told the court that the government would review the order in a meeting scheduled for December 17 and hence, the matter be listed after that.

However, the court asked the government to review the order and file its stand by December 14 while posting the matter for further hearing on December 15.

Mehbooba Mufti claims she’s ‘detained’ ahead of Budgam visit

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti Tuesday claimed that she has been "detained once again" inside her residence in Srinagar ahead of her visit to Budgam.

"Illegal detention has become GOI's favourite go-to method for muzzling any form of opposition. I've been detained once again because I wanted to visit Budgam where hundreds of families were evicted from their homes," she tweeted along with videos of her demanding that the gates of her home premises be unlocked.

"GOI wants to continue inflicting oppression & zulm on the people of J&K without any questions asked (sic)," another tweet read.

Former Bengal CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharya hospitalised, Mamata wishes quick recovery

West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee have wished speedy recovery for former state Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya who was hospitalised today.

The veteran politician was admitted due to respiratory complications and doctors are monitoring his oxygen saturation level.

In a tweet, Mamata Banerjee said, "Concerned to hear that former Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee has been hospitalised with breathing problems. Praying for his speedy recovery and wishing him well."

Jharkhand Govt Reserves Rs 2,000 Crore for Loan waiver to Farmers; Introduces New Scheme to Replace Kisan Bima Yojna

The Jharkhand government has announced allocation of Rs 2,000 crore for loan waiver of farmers in the state. It has also introduced a new scheme to replace the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Bima Yojna with the state's own Fasal Rahat Yojna which has Rs 100 crore reserved for the scheme. As per information after the fourth day of the review meetings of various departments conducted by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, these initiatives will most likely come into effect by the end of this month.

According to a report by a national daily, a source in the government said: "The biggest challenge will be selecting the criteria for loan waiver." The source added that during the review of the Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Co-operative, CM Soren was informed that a state-level committee has been formed under the Agriculture Minister.
