Reliance to build one of world's largest zoos in Gujarat's Jamnagar

The Reliance Industries Limited is going to build one of the world's largest zoos in Gujarat's Jamnagar.

"As we all know the world's tallest statue is in Gujarat (Statue of Unity in Kevadiya). Now, one of the world's biggest zoos, in terms of number and species of animals at one place, is coming up very shortly in Jamnagar," a news agency quoted MK Das, additional chief secretary in Gujarat's chief minister's office as saying.

According to a news agency, the zoo will be called 'Greens Zoological Rescue and Rehabilitation Kingdom' and will be spread over 250.1 acres.

The Detailed Project Report (DPR) was submitted along with the Master (Layout) Plan for the proposed establishment of the zoo in Jamnagar by Reliance Industries Limited and was reportedly approved by the 33rd Meeting of the Central Zoo Authority in February 2019.

As farmers’ protest continued, Bhartiya Kisan Union, Spokesperson, Rakesh Tikait on being asked about the farmers supporting farm reforms said that he will consult them to learn their technology for selling crops. “We'll go and meet those farmers' groups who're supporting the Centre on 3 farm laws. We'll take information from them about how they're benefitting from farm law and will learn the technology, which they're using to sell their crops,” said Rakesh Tikait.

Telangana Govt Urges Centre to Release Rs 1,204 Crore Under MGNREGS

The Telangana government has urged the Centre to release Rs 1,024 crore towards material and admin components of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).

State Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Minister, Errabelli Dayakar Rao has written a letter to Union Rural Development, Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, and Panchayati Raj Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, urging him to expedite the release of the pending amount so as to complete the ongoing works and creation of assets under MGNREGS.

Rao wrote that MNREGS is under implementation in 12,770 gram panchayats covering 540 rural mandals of 32 districts in the state.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday (December 20, 2020) during his visit to West Bengal launched a scathing attack on the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) government and said that they can never stop infiltration as they believe in appeasement politics.

"The TMC can never stop infiltration as it believes in appeasement politics. Only BJP can stop it. Mamata Banerjee supports farmers protest but doesn't allow cultivators of Bengal to get the benefits of central schemes. Is this the way to honour the federal structure?" Shah said.

He also stated that the rules for the implementation of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act will be formulated after the COVID-19 pandemic is brought under control.

Shivpal Yadav Rejects Nephew Akhilesh's 'One Seat' Offer Ahead of 2022 UP Assembly Polls

Speaking at a function organised in Etawah on the occasion of 71st annual meeting of District Cooperative Bank, the0 PSP-L chief expressed displeasure over the offer made by his nephew Akhilesh. "We are going to forge alliance with small parties and one national political party, this will prove our status to our opponents. We will be contesting elections with non-BJP parties," he said. However, he did not reveal names of the parties.

Answering a question about the alliance with AIMIM and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Shivpal said that his party will form alliance with non-BJP parties.

On contesting elections with the Samajwadi Party, he said that the PSP-L is forming alliances with small parties and will contest elections on its own symbol. "We have waited a lot. Now the Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia) will not take back its steps. We will contest on our symbol. We are forming alliances with small parties. Negotiations are also underway with a national party. Like Dr. Lohia, we want to gather all the secular parties. The next government in the state will not be formed without PSP-L," he said.
