A day after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee suffered injuries on her ankle and shoulder while campaigning in Nandigram, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav hinted that the BJP was behind the incident.
Condemning what Banerjee claims was an "attack" by 4-5 men, Tejashwi Yadav said the BJP has proven in the past too that it can stoop to any level to win elections.
It is yet unclear whether it was indeed an attack or an accident, as two men claiming to be eyewitnesses have said.
"What happened with Mamata Banerjee is a very serious matter. There should be no place for violence in democracy. BJP has a history that it can stoop to any level to win elections. It is possible that BJP is behind what happened with Mamata Banerjee," Tejashwi Yadav said.
