Mamata Banerjee's attack allegations reveal desperation: Union Minister Rajnath Singh

in DNDQuick

Campaigning for the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal, Union Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday (March 16) called CM Mamata Banerjee's allegations of attack on her by BJP a desperate bid.

He said that the TMC supremo in her desperation to win the polls hatched out a conspiracy theory and blamed BJP for her leg injury.

"No one levelled allegations except Mamata didi. The reports of probe agencies and observers state that the accident occurred due to security lapses," Singh was quoted as saying by ANI.

"But it is a result of her desperation that she is accusing BJP for her injury. I hope she recovers soon," Singh added.

DCW asks Delhi Police why there is no woman as SHO in city

in DNDQuick

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) on Tuesday wrote to the Delhi Police seeking explanation over reports stating Delhi did not have a single police station with a policewoman deployed as the Station House Officer (SHO).

DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal said, "We have been informed that there are no women SHOs in any of the 178 police stations in the national capital. This is very shocking and disappointing at the same time."

"It is very important to ensure equal participation of women in the force. Further, areas like GB Road must have women SHOs. We have issued a notice to the police in the matter and sought answers to our concerns. We are taking this issue very seriously and will try to bring about a change," Maliwal said.

MLA evicted from Gujarat Assembly for wearing t-shirt to House citing 'This is not a playground'

in DNDQuick

We have seen legislators getting evicted from the House for creating ruckus or failing to follow protocols, but a Congress MLA was ousted from the Legislative Assembly in Gujarat for coming to the House wearing a T-shirt.

Vimal Chudasama was forced out of the House on the orders of Speaker Rajendra Trivedi who insisted that MLAs maintain decorum and refrain from wearing T-shirt in the House, reported a news agency.

The opposition Congress opposed Trivedi’s decision, claiming there was no rule prohibiting members from wearing specific clothes while attending the House proceedings.
