The 74th Republic Day parade in Delhi will roll down Kartavya Path, the revamped ceremonial boulevard from the British period once known as the Rajpath, for the first time today. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is the Chief Guest this year.

#DocumentaryControversy: Stones Thrown At JNU Students Watching BBC Series On PM Modi

Left wing supporters have caught two students, who, they claimed, were throwing the stones. The two, they said, belong to the ABVP, the students' wing of the BJP's ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

Plans of some students to screen the controversial BBC series on PM Narendra Modi at Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru University went awry today as power and internet were cut off. Stones were thrown at those watching it on phones, allegedly by the ABVP.

UK petition demands independent investigation into BBC series on Modi’s leadership during the 2002 Gujarat riots

Days after India blocked the airing of a BBC documentary which questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership during the 2002 Gujarat riots, a new online petition has demanded an independent probe into a “serious breach” by the BBC in its duties as a public broadcaster in the UK over the controversial documentary series. 

The independent probe has attracted over 2,500 signatures since it went online on Sunday night on Change.Org, which strongly condemns the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) for failing to meet the highest standards of editorial impartiality.

Asked about the government's move to block access to the BBC documentary "India: The Modi Question", Congress's Gaurav Vallabh told reporters: "There is a scheme of the government of India called 'Block in India', like 'Make in India', 'Startup India'. The government does not want difficult questions to be asked. If the BBC headquarters were in Delhi, the ED (Enforcement Directorate) might have been on their doorstep by now."

#WrestlersProtest: Protest Ends After WFI President Asked To Step Aside, Sports Ministry Forms Oversight Committee To Probe Allegations

In what was a a slight win for the wrestlers, the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh was asked to step aside by the sports ministry late on Friday night. Bajrang Punia and Co's second meeting was a successful one as a solution for the whole matter was found. The sports ministry has asked WFI president to stop the day-to-day functioning as president of the federation for a month till the charges are probed. The ministry also told that it will form an oversight committee which will help probe the allegations levelled against the WFI president.
