Anil Kapoor apologises after Air Force objects to Netflix trailer

The Indian Air Force today demanded "withdrawal" of a few scenes from a soon-to-be released Netflix movie - "AK vs AK" - after a teaser was shared on Twitter by Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor.

"The IAF uniform in this video is inaccurately donned & the language used is inappropriate (sic)," the Indian Air Force tweeted. 

The post further read: "This does not conform to the behavioural norms of those in the Armed Forces of India. The related scenes need to be withdrawn. @NetflixIndia @anuragkashyap72." Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and Netflix India were tagged in the tweet.

Kapoor later apologised on Twitter.

Top Bollywood actors make impactful OTT debut in year 2020

There used to be a time when a very distinct line existed between television and film actors. However, with the proliferation of OTT platforms like Disney+ Hotstar, Netflix, Amazon Prime and so on, that line has blurred ever so little. TV Actress Divya Bhatnagar of 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' fame passes away after battling against Covid-19

TV actress Divya Bhatnagar passed away today morning today due to Covid-19 at Mumbai’s SevenHills hospital. She was 34-years-old. Several TV celebrities took to social media to mourn the loss of the actress. Among the first ones to shares their condolences on social media were Aalisha Panwar and Shilpa Shirodkar.

Shilpa Shirodkar shared a picture with Divya Bhatnagar and wrote, “Im so so so heartbroken RIP my dearest divya (sic).”

Sharing a picture with Divya from what looks like a Holi sequence, Aalisha Panwar wrote, “Still shocking very hard to believe.. You were one of the nicest person I knew.., such a good human being.. it was really too soon.. May your soul Rest In Peace.. @divyabhatnagarofficial (sic).”

Veteran Marathi actor Ravi Patwardhan dies at 84, Uddhav Thackeray pays tribute

Veteran Marathi actor Ravi Patwardhan,84, died on Sunday at his residence in Thane. Patwardhan, who was recently acting in a Marathi serial, had taken a break from work in the pandemic and due to his health, though his close friends claim that he was willing to start work again. He suffered a heart attack at his residence in Panchpakhadi late on Saturday night and was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared dead.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray paid tribute to him in his tweet saying, “We have lost an actor who made every character role memorable with his ‘towering’ personality. He set an example before the others by working actively in the field of cinema and television even at this age. He gave us some of the memorable roles. His death is a great loss for the theatre and film industry.”

Sikh body sends legal notice to Kangana Ranaut over 'derogatory' remarks against farmers protesting in Delhi

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has sent a legal notice to Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut, seeking an "unconditional apology" for her "derogatory" tweets against farmers and activists involved in the farmers protest against the Centre's three Farm Laws, the committee's president said on Friday.

"We have sent a legal notice to Kangana Ranaut for her derogatory tweet calling the aged mother of a farmer as a woman available for Rs 100. Her tweets portray farmers protest as anti-national. We demand an unconditional apology from her for her insensitive remarks on farmers protest," Manjinder Singh Sirsa, President of DSGMC said in a tweet on Friday.

The notice comes in the wake of a tweet from Kangana alleging that the 'Shaheen Bagh dadi' also joined the farmers' agitation over the new agri laws at various border points of the national capital.
