Mumbai witnessed a starry Friday night as some of the biggest names from the industry assembled under one roof for the opening ceremony of the Jio MAMI Film Festival 2023. Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Kamal Haasan, Karan Johar, Diana Penty, Jim Sarbh, Randeep Hooda walked the red carpet in their festive finery. Richa Chadha-Ali Fazal, Arjun Rampal-Gabriella Demetriades made appearances together. Shanaya Kapoor, Kritika Kamra, Tejasswi Prakash also rocked the red carpet in style. Women hold only 13% of senior roles in Indian media and entertainment industry: report

Despite some progress, women still hold only 13% of senior leadership roles in Indian media and entertainment (M&E) companies, according to the third edition of the 'O Womaniya!' report. While this is slightly higher than the 10% reported in 2021, it underscores a persistent gender gap in the industry.

The 'O Womaniya!' study, conducted by media consulting firm Ormax Media and Film Companion with the support of Prime Video, assesses the representation of women in various aspects of content production, marketing, and corporate leadership within India's entertainment industry.

Bhagavanth Kesari: Nandamuri Balakrishna film grosses reasonable Rs 54 crores worldwide

Nandamuri Balakrishna's film Bhagavanth Kesari directed by Anil Ravipudi and co-starring Kajal Aggarwal, Sree Leela, Arjun Rampal and others had a reasonable extended opening weekend as it grossed around Rs 53.78 crores in 4 days. The hold over the weekend was solid but the clash with other Dussehra releases impacted it adversely. The total recovery in terms of share stands at just around 50 percent and there still is some work there to be done in order for the Nandamuri Balakrishna film to emerge profitable for everyone involved.
