Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) Founder Seeman on Friday demanded calling off the Amazon Prime web series ‘The Family Man 2’ as it portrays Tamils as vicious and the Liberation Tiger for Tamil Eelam (LTTE) as terrorists. In a statement, Seeman said that the trailer of the web series ‘The Family Man 2’, starring Manoj Bajpayee and Samantha Akkineni, is shocking. “The series seeks to intentionally portray the LTTE as terrorists and Tamils as vicious people. It is no coincidence that Chennai has been chosen as the location," Seeman said.

According to him, the web series story revolves around an Eelam - in Sri Lanka- woman who is portrayed as a militant. “The colour of her dress resembles that of an LTTE uniform, with dialogues referring to links between the militant group and the Pakistani ISI," Seeman said.

Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 3 was temporarily suspended after the crew was shooting for the show at EVP Film City in Chembarambakkam, Chennai, despite the government's ban on film and television shootings. The set was sealed by a team of officials led by Thiruvallur Revenue Divisional Officer Preethi Parkavi at around 8 pm on May 19.  

Speaking to media, Preethi Parkavi, Revenue Divisional Officer, Thiruvallur, said, “We got the information that food was being taken inside the film city. So we inspected the place yesterday evening. There were seven contestants and 10 technicians inside filming Bigg Boss Malayalam. All of them were evicted and the film city was sealed around 8 pm on Wednesday." 

The Family Man 2 trailer is here and the wait was worth it. Manoj Bajpayee reprises his role as Srikant Tiwari in the new season but this time he has had a job change and he is going to a relationship counsellor along with his wife to save his marriage. The first few minutes of the trailer are all about Srikant trying his best to be the titular man, till he experiences FOMO - fear of missing out. Before his job change, Srikant was an intelligence officer of the National Intelligence Agency, like we saw him in the first season. A phone call with his former colleague reminded him of the thrill and action he is missing out and soon, we see him handling a case of terrorism in Chennai.

A Covid-19 care centre with 25 bed-capacity and oxygen availability, helped set up by megastar Amitabh Bachchan, began its operations here on Tuesday, filmmaker Anand Pandit said.

According to Pandit, the Hindi cinema veteran provided the Juhu-based Ritambhara Vishva Vidyapeeth facility with necessary equipment and infrastructure.

“After a trial run, the centre was up and running by 10 am on Tuesday, May 18. Mr Bachchan has donated the equipment and infrastructure for the facility and all necessary permissions have been granted by the BMC,” Pandit, who has collaborated with Bachchan on the thriller Chehre, said in a statement.
