Dhanush’s 44th film, tentatively titled D44, went on floors in Chennai with a puja ceremony on Thursday. The cast and crew were present at the launch event.

Production house Sun Pictures took to social media to share pictures from the puja ceremony. The caption of the photos read, "@dhanushkraja's #D44 shooting commences Today!"

D44 is directed by Mithran R Jawahar. The Sun Pictures production marks the fourth collaboration between Mithran and Dhanush after Yaaradi Mohini, Kutty and Uthamaputhiran.

The movie also stars Raashii Khanna, Nithya Menen, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bharathiraja and Prakash Raj. Anirudh Ravichander is on board to compose music for D44.

Streaming giant Discovery Plus on Wednesday announced its upcoming line-up of non-fiction titles and Bollywood stars Anil Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Ananya Panday and Nora Fatehi are set to be featured in the new shows.

While Sara Ali Khan will be seen in the second season of Mission Frontline, where she will be seen in action with the Veerangana Force in Assam, Anil Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Nora Fatehi and Badshah will star in Star vs Food 2.

Buoyed by the response to season one of Star vs Food, season two of the franchise produced by Endemol India, makers say, ensures double the fun, entertainment, and cooking.

The trailer of Akshay Kumar starrer Bellbottom is out, and it looks like an intense hijacking thriller. The trailer gives a sneak peek into the story of the film where Akshay Kumar’s character, who operates under the code name Bellbottom, is at the helm of a rescue operation.

Set in the 1980s, he has to free the passengers of a plane held hostage by terrorists. The film is said to be based on true events.

Bellbottom will be among the first few films to release theatrically after the second wave of coronavirus shut down theatres. The makers recently announced a worldwide release for the Akshay Kumar film on August 19.

Shilpa Shetty has issued a statement in reaction to the alleged pornographic film case against her husband Raj Kundra. Teh actress broke her silence on the case by posting her statement on Twitter, asking everyone to respect the family’s privacy. She has refused to clarify on her stand regarding the case. Raj Kundra was arrested on July 19 on charges of allegedly producing ‘pornographic’ films.

Shilpa’s statement on Twitter read, “Yes! The past few days have been challenging, on every front. There have been a lot of rumours and accusations. A lot of unwarranted aspersions on me cast by the media and (not so) well wishers as well. A lot of trolling/questions posed… not only to me but also to my family.

Actor Janhvi Kapoor has her wedding all planned out in her head, from the venue and the decorations, to whether or not a reception is even 'necessary'. Janhvi is the daughter of film producer Boney Kapoor and the late actor Sridevi.

As a part of a feature for a fashion brand, she spoke about her future wedding, and how she imagines it to be. Janhvi said that she wants a 'simple and basic' wedding that she aims to wrap up in 'two days'.

Janhvi Kapoor told a fashion magazine in a video that she will have her bachelorette party 'in Capri, on a yacht', and that her wedding will take place at Tirupathi. Her mehendi and sangeet ceremonies, Janhvi said, will take place at 'a house in Mylapore', probably referring to Sridevi's ancestral home. She also revealed that she isn't too keen on a reception. "Is a reception necessary? No na? Screw the reception."
