Historical epic 'Samrat Prithviraj' banned in Kuwait and Oman

The historical epic 'Samrat Prithviraj', which stars Akshay Kumar in the titular role, has been banned in Kuwait and Oman.

The Akshay-starrer narrates the life story of legendary warrior king Prithviraj Chauhan.

The news of the film getting banned in Oman and Kuwait was shared by trade analyst Girish Johar.

A source quoted by a TV channel said, "Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan's life is a testimony to the fact that Indians stood up for what is right and defended our country from merciless invaders who only wanted to loot and plunder and murder our people. This film is really buzzing right now and the anticipation is only skyrocketing. Banning his life story only makes one question the fact that why can't people take a look at history and accept what happened to India and Hindus."

Oxford University ‘cancels' Vivek Agnihotri, angry director takes to Twitter

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri took to Twitter on Monday to appeal for support after he was allegedly 'cancelled' by Oxford University.

The filmmaker, best known for his film The Kashmi Files which released earlier this year, said in a video that he was invited by Oxford University in the UK to make an address on May 31. However, a few hours before the event, he was told there was a mistake and they would not be able to host him, he said.

"It was all confirmed on email but a few hours back, they said they had made a mistake, there was a double booking and they wouldn't be able to host me today. Without even asking me, they changed the date to July 1 because on that day no student would be there and there's no point doing an event," he said.
