Actress Triptii Dimri, who has created a big impact with a small role in the blockbuster movie ‘Animal’, said that cinema is about free artistic expression and added that she submitted to the director's vision for the film, although it has been tagged misogynistic.

The film is filled with violence, romance, and intimacy. With polarised views coming on 'Animal', does she feel the film was misogynistic in any way?

Triptii, who has been crowned as the new national crush, told IANS: "I think cinema is about free artistic expression, and it should be that way.”

The 29th Kolkata International Film Festival kicked off today at Netaji Indoor Stadium in presence of veteran actors, film stars and musicians from Tollywood and Bollywood. Salman Khan announced the festival opening, while Anil Kapoor, Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi Sinha, Mahesh Bhatt and Timangshu Dhulia attended the event as special guests. Ranjit Mallick, Sabitri Chatterjee, Madhabi Mukherjee, Anjan Dutt, Lily Chakraborty, Paran Bandopadhyay, Sandip Ray and Dipankar De were felicitated for their contributions to cinema over the decades. Global dignitaries and jury members such as Pavel Lungin from Russia, and Laurence Kardish from USA were present too.

Vicky Kaushal starrer 'Sam Bahadur' released on Friday with 'Animal' and the film has been slowly paving its way in the hearts of the audience. It released in lesser number of screens than 'Animal' but it has managed to see a huge growth on Saturday and Sunday.

The Saturday numbers saw a growth of almost 50 percent as it made Rs 9 crore on Day 2. Meanwhile, on Sunday, the film has managed to score double digit numbers. 'Sam Bahadur' made Rs 10 crore nett on Sunday and that gave the film a very healthy weekend of around Rs 25 crore. This is considered quite good considering the fact that 'Animal' is just roaring and how! But the Monday figures will play a huge role in determinng the film's fate.

Pakistani actor Hania Aamir, who often posts videos of herself jamming and dancing to Hindi and Punjabi songs, surprised fans with her latest Instagram post featuring rapper Badshah and Punjabi singer-rapper Karan Aujla. It seems the three recently met in Dubai.
