Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who made her Koffee With Karan debut with tonight's episode was at her candid best. The actress also talked about her professional life on the show. When Karan Johar asked her: "Was it a brave decision that you go and do a song like Oo Antava  literally 2 weeks before Pushpa saw the theatrical release?" He added, "Was that a rebellious move? Was that a strategic move? Or was that something you just felt "F*** it I'll do it.?" Samantha said, "The third, f*** it I'll do it. I mean why not? I loved the song. It was a satire on the male gaze. I know I got a lot of criticism about pandering to the male gaze while making a satire on the male gaze. My logic was who else can satire a male gaze except for the nautch girl I was playing in the song or an actor who has a wide experience or wide range of the male gaze? Only a nautch girl or me can satire the male gaze."

Amazon Prime Video on Wednesday announced the release date of the latest biopic movie Rocketry: The Nambi Effect on its platform. The film will premiere on the platform on July 26, a little more than three weeks after its theatrical release.

Rocketry marked the directorial debut of R Madhavan, which was his passion project. Besides directing it, he also wrote, produced and played the lead role. He went through extensive make-up to achieve the old-age look of former aerospace engineer Nambi Narayanan. And he relentlessly promoted the movie across the world to give it a wider release.

The Ahmedabad crime branch has arrested filmmaker Avinash Das in Mumbai for sharing a photo of Union Home Minister Amit Shah with arrested IAS officer Pooja Singhal.

Das had also shared an objectionable photo of a woman wearing a tricolor dress. According to sources in the Ahmedabad crime branch, Das was heading to his office when officials from the Ahmedabad crime branch picked him up.

Police said Das had shared a photo of Shah with arrested Jharkhand cadre IAS officer Pooja Singhal on Twitter along with a caption alleging that the photo was clicked before the officer's arrest.

Sushmita Sen is currently making headlines due to her relationship with Lalit Modi. In a new post, the actress calls out on reports stating her as ‘Gold Digger’. Sharing a picture of herself from her recent trip with Lalit Modi, Sushmita wrote, “Perfectly centred in my being & my conscience…I love how nature merges all it’s creation to experience oneness…and just how divided we are, when we break that balance.”

She also added, “It’s heartbreaking to see just how miserable & unhappy the world around us is becoming….”

Noted actor-director Pratap Pothen, who has worked in multiple regional language films was found in his apartment in Chennai. He acted in over 100 movies including Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu as well as Hindi respectively. He was 69. 

According to media report, he was found dead at his Chennai flat in Kilpauk. More details are awaited. Several fans and celebs reacted to the unfortunate news on social media and condoled his sudden demise.

Pratap made his debut in the 1978 film Aaravam in Malayalam and later featured in Thakara in 1979 bagging the Filmfare Award for Best Actor - Malayalam for his lead role. In the same year, he starred in a Tamil film titled Azhiyadha Kolangal.
