Spanish prosecutor asks for eight-year jail term for singer Shakira

A Spanish prosecutor is seeking a prison term of eight years for Colombian superstar Shakira over a 14.5 million-euro tax fraud case, a prosecutor`s office document showed on Friday.

The singer, who has sold more than 80 million records worldwide with hits such as "Hips Don`t Lie", earlier this week rejected a settlement offer from the prosecutor`s office to close the case. She is accused of failing to pay taxes between 2012 and 2014, a period in which Shakira says she did not live in Spain.

The prosecutor`s document, seen by Reuters, asserts that Shakira was ordinarily resident in Spain between 2012 and 2014 and in May 2012 bought a house in Barcelona which became a family home for herself, her partner and their son born in Spain in 2013.

Ek Villain Returns: A romantic crime thriller with a twist

Mohit Suri’s ‘Ek Villain Returns’ is not a continuation to his 2014 ‘Ek Villain’. One can call it a stand-alone sequel or just a ‘spiritual successor’ having the title ‘Ek Villain’. Though the soul of the story is partially in lines with the earlier, but it appears that the makers are eyeing to create a viable crime franchise with ‘Ek Villain’. Let’s find out what exactly Ek Villain Returns is all about.

Ek Villain Returns begins on a gory note with Aarvi (Tara Sutaria) having a house party when a killer crashes in through a window and takes her away while injuring / killing the rest. Someone captures the crime scene and the video shows Aarvi addressing the killer as Gautam (Arjun Kapoor). Gautam has his own issues and a past.

Shamshera Box Office collections: Ranbir Kapoor's dacoit-drama falls flat at Box Office

Actor Ranbir Kapoor's period-action film 'Shamshera' seems to be struggling at the Box Office. The Yash Raj Films production, mounted on a Rs 150 crore budget, started on a sluggish note earning only Rs 10.25 crore on day one. Adding more dismay to the producers, the dacoit-drama showed no growth at the Box Office on Day 2 and has send alarm bells ringing for the producers. As per trade experts, unless the film shows a healthy growth on Sunday, it may end up being a massive failure.

Going by the reports, the film is struggling to bring audience to theatres. Noted film critic Taran Adarsh shared the collections of first two days of the film and wrote, "#Shamshera struggles on Day 2. Substantial growth on Sat was a must, esp after an unenthusiastic start. Mass pockets remain below par, which is a worrying sign... Sun biz is the last hope to recover lost ground... Fri 10.25 cr, Sat 10.50 cr. Total: Rs 20.75 cr. #India biz."

Shamshera Movie Review: Ranbir Kapoor film is only sham, no shera

Ranbir Kapoor riding a horse. Ranbir Kapoor riding a horse with an axe. Ranbir Kapoor riding a horse with an axe and Vaani Kapoor. I won't be surprised if this is what the draft of Shamshera's screenplay looked like!

Too monotonous? Wait, there's also Ranbir Kapoor trapping a swarm of bees in a loose cloth. The bizarreness of Shamshera has several shades. After a four-year hiatus, RK is back on the big screen in the much delayed and anticipated offering, Shamshera. Was it worth the wait? Does it do justice to RK's craft or end up as a big heap of disappointment? Let's find out.

Ranbir's Shamshera is a Lone Ranger who later transitions into Robin Hood. The plot isn't different from what the promos offered. Shamshera (Ranbir) is the leader of the downtrodden, lower-caste tribals called Khamerans. They live in these barren landscapes surrounded by mountains and trenches. Ruled by the British army, their clan is governed by the dreaded police officer Shuddh Singh (Sanjay Dutt), whose job is to keep these tribals under control. Wanting to free his tribe from this oppression, Shamshera plans a revolt that goes awry, resulting in the ultimate sacrifice - his death!
