Bigg Boss contestants Janaki Sudheer and Amritha Vinod will soon be seen in the lesbian love story Holy Wound which will debut on the OTT platform SS Frames on August 12. The film, which was directed by Ashok R. Nath, tells the tale of two young girls who fell in love as children but subsequently had to part ways.

In an earlier interview with OTTplay, director Ashok said the movie aims to “drive home the message of how gender does not play a pivotal role when it comes to love.” The movie has been screened at a number of film festivals, including Sahasrara International Film Festival, KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival, and Frameline San Francisco International LGBTQ Film Festival.

Laal Singh Chaddha is set to release on Thursday. While reviewers in India are yet to share their verdict, a few international critics have shared their verdict and it has received mixed reviews from them. Laal Singh Chaddha sees Aamir Khan in the tiular role while Kareena Kapoor, Mona Singh, and Naga Chaitanya play pivotal supporting roles.

For the unversed, Laal Singh Chaddha is the official remake of Tom Hanks’ Oscar-winning film Forrest Gump. The film is directed by Advait Chandan and produced by Aamir’s production house, Aamir Khan Productions.

Dulquer Salmaan's highly-awaited period romantic drama film, titled Sita Ramam hit the big screens on August 5 worldwide. Ever since its release, the film has been getting positive reviews from film critics and audiences alike. In addition to being critically lauded, this Hanu Raghavapudi-directorial has been faring well at the box office, not only in India but across the globe.

It has been reported that Sita Ramam minted $210,082 (more than ₹1.67 crores) on the first day of its theatrical release in the United States of America. Owing to the mammoth success of the film, Dulquer Salmaan bagged the record of being among the few Malayalam actors with one of the highest first-day box office collections in the US.

Sita Ramam, whose Tamil version I saw (the original is in Telugu), is a mind-boggling medley of events that plays out like a jigsaw puzzle. By the time, I have had time to place the pieces in their slots, 163 minutes have gone by – and I am nowhere near getting a clear picture.

There is a love story between Ram (Dulquer Salmaan) Sita (Mrunal Thakur). But she is actually Princess Noor Jehan, and yes the film is set in the mid-1960s, so we still have the privy purse intact. She falls in love with a commoner (traces of Roman Holiday?), Ram, who is a Lieutenant in the Indian Army. She first meets him in Kashmir, where he saves her from militants, but he does not even see her face! But she begins writing letters to him, and he, an orphan, is thrilled to be getting them. They finally meet in Hyderabad, where she leads a life of opulent royalty, but she does not reveal her identity to him.
