Taapsee Pannu's latest Dobaaraa hit the theatres on August 19. The film received good reviews from critics and audience alike. However, the same is not reflecting in its box office collections. As per the latest figures, Dobaaraa hardly managed to earn any money in its Day 5 collections. Dobaaraa is also facing stiff competition from Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan at the box office. However, the latter two films are also not doing well.

Taapsee Pannu's Dobaaraa collected a mere Rs 72 lakh on Day 1. It's collection gradually saw an improvement in its first Sunday in the theaters. On Day 4, August 21, Dobaaraa's total box office collection stood at Rs 3.37 crore. But it saw a further drop on Day 5, August 23. Dobaaraa hardly earned Rs 0.40 crore in a single day. Hence, its total box office collection would now stand at Rs 3.87 crore, according to early reports. The Taapsee Pannu-starrer was released in just 370 screens on August 19. Though the film got a thumbs up from the critics, it failed to bring audience to the theatres. Meanwhile, Dobaaraa had an overall 7.55 per cent Hindi Occupancy on Tuesday, August 23.

Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha might have flopped domestically as it is hardly minting money. However, the film has broken a significant record at the worldwide box office. According to reports, Laal Singh Chaddha is now the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2022 in international markets. It has overtaken hit Bollywood films such as Gangubai Kathiawadi, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and The Kashmir Files. Domestically, the Forrest Gump remake didn't fare well on Day 13. With the release of Liger on August 25, Laal Singh Chaddha may be removed from many cinema halls.

It was yet another great night for the batters at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, a high scoring venue, as Mayank Agarwal and Rohan Patil scored sensational centuries, entertaining one and all on a Tuesday (August 23) night. That set-up a titanic clash between the Bengaluru Blasters and the Gulbarga Mystics, with the Mayank Agarwal-led Blasters winning by 44 runs, and becoming the first team to qualify for the final of the Maharaja Trophy. The Gulbarga Mystics have another go at making the final when they face Mysuru Warriors in Qualifier 2 on Thursday.

Actor Dulquer Salmaan is currently basking in the success of his latest film Sita Ramam. However, Dulquer's previous film, Kurup, has grabbed the headlines in recent days. Kurup was released last year and received glowing reviews from both audience and critics alike.

The action drama did good business at the box office. Now it has emerged that Kurup has been sold to a popular OTT platform for a record amount. Dulquer Salmaan himself shared the fantastic news on Facebook and revealed that Kurup had done a total business of Rs 112 crore.

After Kangana Ranaut said that she will sue a leading magazine for nominating and inviting her to their awards show, the magazine revoked her nomination. Kangana was nominated for the Best Actress Awards for her film Thalaivii. In a fresh statement, the association have also called the actor’s accusations ‘false’.

In a long statement, they said, “As is customary during the awards, Filmfare’s Executive Editor informed Ms. Ranaut about her nomination in the Best Actor in a Leading Role, Female category and asked for her address to send across the invitation.”
