Actor Ekta Sharma joins call centre amid lack of work in TV: 'No one looks out for others when they're alive'

Television actor Ekta Sharma has taken up work at a call centre she could not succeed in her numerous attempts to find work in the entertainment industry. Ekta shared she is in the middle of a custody battle for her daughter and could not wait for a miracle to happen. Out of work since the coronavirus pandemic induced lockdown, Ekta decided to use her education instead to earn money. 

Ekta has appeared in shows like Daddy Samjha Karo, Kkusum, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kamini-Damini, and Bepanah Pyaar among others. The actor said she approached her contacts in the television industry to find some work but did not get any positive leads.

Rahul Dev has spoken about the pain and difficulties he faced as a widower and a single father. The actor raised his son, Siddharth Dev, on his own after his wife Rina Dev's death in 2009. They were together for almost 18 years and married for 11 of them before Rina succumbed to cancer. 

In an interview, Rahul shared that he would often feel insecure as he tried to be both the mother and the father to his son. He also said that being widowed is not as easy as it is shown in films.

Jacqueline Fernandez summoned by Delhi Police again in Rs 200-crore scam

Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez has been summoned again by the Delhi Police in connection with an extortion case linked to conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. Jacqueline Fernandez has been asked to appear before the Economic Offenses Wing at 11:00 am on Monday.

Actor Jacqueline Fernandez had joined the probe on Wednesday after being issued a third summons and was questioned for nearly eight hours in the extortion case. She was accompanied by Pinky Irani, who was tasked to introduce Jacqueline Fernandez to the conman and was allegedly paid in crores of rupees for the job.

During the first round of questioning, the Delhi Police found inconsistencies in their responses. Jacqueline Fernandez has now been asked to appear before the EOW on Monday.

Punjabi singer G Khan booked for allegedly hurting religious sentiments with 'vulgar songs' during Ganesh Utsav

Punjabi singer G Khan was booked by the Ludhiana police for hurting religious sentiments by singing "indecent" and "vulgar songs" during the Ganesh Chaturthi Virarjan Utsav event in Janakpuri in Ludhiana on September 9.

Shiv Sena Punjab's vice-president Amit Arora, who filed the written complaint with division number 2 police station, alleged that during the programme, the singer sang songs such as "Peg motey motey whiskey wale", and "Choli ke peeche kya hai", which were not appropriate songs for the religious occasion.

Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt’s film passes Monday test, expected to hit Rs 175 crore in first week

Following a promising upward trend over the weekend, director Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra appears to have passed the crucial Monday test. According to Pinkvilla, the fantasy drama made a reported Rs 16.25 crore on day four of release — Rs 14.25 crore from the Hindi markets, and another Rs 2 crore from the dubbed language versions. Discrepancies are being observed in the box office reporting for Brahmastra; Dharma Productions, meanwhile, has been sharing gross figures daily, without citing sources. On Monday, Dharma shared that the film had grossed Rs 225 crore over the weekend, a number that has also been disputed.
