Directed by Om Raut, "Adipurush" is an epic fantasy that presents an interpretation of the Ramayana. Prabhas portrays Raghav, inspired by Rama, while Kriti Sanon plays Janaki, inspired by Sita. Saif Ali Khan takes on the role of Lankesh, inspired by Ravana.In particular, the dialogues in the Lanka Dahan scene, where Lord Hanuman utters the lines "jalegi bhi tere baap ki" to Meghnad, have sparked intense scrutiny.

Adipurush director Om Raut addresses negative reviews, says only ‘fools’ claim to fully understand the Ramayana

Filmmaker Om Raut's Adipurush debuted with mixed-to-negative reviews from critics, but its box office performance tells a different story. The film has surpassed the Rs 200 crore mark within the first two days of its release, leaving Raut "incredibly proud" of the results. Addressing complaints about the changes that have been made to the Ramayana's story in the film, Raut also acknowledged that the epic is a vast and expansive tale, and Adipurush merely showcases a small portion of it.

Adipurush box office prediction: Prabhas-Kriti Sanon-starrer may open with ₹40-50 crore on day one

Upcoming film Adipurush is likely to break records at the box office and may make an opening collection of ₹40 to ₹50 crore on day one of the release on June 16. Directed by Om Raut, the film features Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles. 

Producer and film business expert Girish Johar said he expects the film to open huge - the hype around the film is combined with the fact that the film will release in more than 4000 screens across all languages in India. "The audience has liked the new and revised trailer. It is based on our legendary epic Ramayan. It is a family outing, I am expecting a huge opening that may be ranging between ₹45 and 50 crore (or perhaps more) for all languages combined."
