Oshiwara police has arrested social media influencer Sapna Gill for allegedly assaulting Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw at a night club in Maharashtra capital Mumbai. The scuffle took place late Wednesday night at Barrel Mansion Club in Vile Parle East over taking selfies with Prithvi Shaw.
"An offence was registered in Oshiwara police station, Mumbai, under the section of unlawful assembly, extortion and other sections. The accused in the case damaged the car of the complainant (Prithvi Shaw) and then demanded Rs 50,000 to let go of the matter. One accused has been arrested, efforts are underway to nab others," said DCP Zone 9 Anil Paraskar.
Meanwhile, Sapna Gill also alleged that she was assaulted by Prithvi Shaw in the nightclub after he refused to take selfies with her and her friends.
"When Prithvi refused to take repeated selfies by the same person, he was asked to leave. A scuffle broke out after that. Sapna Gill and her friends later attacked our car and damaged the windscreen with a baton. There was no assault from any side, they just attacked the car," Ashish told Times Network.
Ashish has already recorded his statement with the police. It is said that Prithvi has not recorded his statement with the police and neither he wants to file a police complaint.
Several videos of the scuffle have gone viral on social media. The video shows Sapna Gill and Prithvi Shaw struggling with each other.
