#10 BJP MPs Including 2 Ministers Resign From Lok Sabha After Assembly Poll Win

Ten Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Lok Sabha MPs including two Union ministers who won the assembly elections in three states of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, resigned from the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, people familiar with the matter said.

The 10 members of Parliament submitted their resignation to the Lok Sabha speaker’s office after calling on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president JP Nadda. The party president accompanied them to the speaker’s office.

Among those who met speaker Om Birla to resign are Union agriculture minister Narendra Tomar, minister of state for food processing and jal shakti Prahlad Patel, Riti Pathak, Rakesh Singh, Uday Pratap Singh from MP. Rajyavardhan Rathore, Diya Kumari from Rajasthan and Arun Sao and Gomti Sai from Chhattisgarh.

Narendra Singh Tomar and Prahlad Patel were elected to the Madhya Pradesh assembly,

Lok Sabha MPs, Baba Balaknath and Renuka Singh, who were also fielded by the BJP and won the assembly seats, are yet to submit their resignation.

Kirori Lal Meena who is a Rajya Sabha MP also submitted his resignation to the Rajya Sabha chairman.

An English daily reported on Monday that these MPs will submit their resignation.
