Canadians are just plain old sick and tired of Justin Trudeau!
Canadians have lost their love for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the popularity that once gave hope to millions has turned into disdain for a leader who is losing relevance.
The Telegraph’s Daniel Johnson described the situation perfectly in an August article in which he noted: “Instead of Trudeaumania, the nation is suffering from Trudeau fatigue.”
Johnson’s statement would ring true to many of the 67% of Canadians who disapproved of the PM according to the Angus Reid Institute’s average overall approve/disapprove tracker.
Trudeau only had the approval of 39% of Canadians based on polling from August 23rd, which was higher than his lowest of 31% in August 2019 but lower than recent readings.
More worrying might be the fact that Trudeau has slipped to his second-lowest approval rating among the 18-34 crowd, the very voters he will need to win him the next election.
Such a low approval rating among such a crucial voting block is arguably justified for the Millennials and Gen Zers that make up the group of voters most unhappy with Trudeau.
Canada is suffering from the worst housing affordability crisis the country has seen in 41 years in the second quarter of 2022 a report by National Bank Financial Markets found.
The average cost of a home across 10 metropolitan areas of Canada reached $810,895 in the second quarter of 2022 and had an average mortgage payment of $4166 dollars.
