New Delhi: Congress on Saturday alleged that the attack on its vice president Rahul Gandhi in Gujarat yesterday was pre planned. Briefing media senior party leader GhulamNabi Azad said it was the responsibility of the state government to ensure the safety and security of Mr Gandhi.

Condemning the incident, Mr Azad said such attacks should not take place in a civilized society. Rahul Gandhi's car was pelted with stones during his visit to the flood-affected Dhanera in Gujarat but he escaped unhurt.

Meanwhile, Mr Gandhi has also reacted to the attack on him and alleged it is part of the BJP and RSS politics.
