New Delhi: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said on tuesday in Parliament that the GST Council will meet once every month to review the progress. The GST has impact because till now we were tax non-compliant nation. Now, GST has brought more people under tax net. Though an indirect tax reform, it has brought many in direct tax net.

Food grain has been exempted completely to reduce food price. Earlier there was VAT or other taxes on them, said Mr. Jaitley.
