BJP Chief Amit Shah Inaugurates Deen Dayal Upadhyay Railway Station

New Delhi: National president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Amit Shah on Sunday inaugurated new Deen Dayal Upadhyaya railway station. Mughalsarai railway station has been renamed as Deen Dayal Upadhyaya railway station. Union Minister Piyush Goyal and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were also present. The leaders also launched a project to upgrade the yard at the station.

Speaking at the event, Shah said,''Purvanchal Express will change the face of East UP.  BHU hospital has been brought to an AIIMS level hospital.'' ''No investment would come to UP, since coming to power BJP has brought more than 1 lakh crore investment to the state,''  Shah further said.

Asserting that the move of the Assam government was in compliance with the Supreme Court order, Shah said,''Complying with Supreme Court orders we brought NRC. The NRC is a way to evict illegal Bangladeshi immigrants from Assam. I would like to ask SP, BSP & Congress to clear their stand on whether they want illegal Bangladeshi immigrants to stay here or evict them.''

Mughalsarai Junction, the iconic railway station in Uttar Pradesh was formally renamed after RSS ideologue Deen Dayal Uphadyay. Upadhyaya was found dead in mysterious circumstances near the Mughalsarai station in February 1968. The RSS has raised demand to rename the station ever since.

Mughalsarai is also the birth place of former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. Mughalsarai is also the birth place of former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. The leaders will launch a project to upgrade the yard at the station, officials said. Katmata Express, now set to follow a new route from Lucknow to Mughalsarai, will get the green signal.
