New Delhi: RJD would hold a meeting of its senior leaders including MPs, MLAs and district and cell presidents among others on January 6 in Patna to chalk out the future course of action in the backdrop of fodder scam judgment and LokSabha elections scheduled in 2019.
A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of senior RJD functionaries held at 10, Circular Road residence of party president Lalu Prasad's wife and former BiharCM Rabri Devi. This was in fact, the first formal meeting of senior RJD leaders following Lalu's conviction verdict in the second fodder scam case given by a special CBI court last Saturday.

The meeting was chaired by Rabri Devi and was also attended by her two sons Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and TejPratapYadav and other senior leaders including Bihar- unit president Ram Chand Purbey, Jagdanand Singh, former finance minister Abdul Bari Siddiqui and former Union minister Kanti Singh among others.

Lalu's younger son and leader of opposition in legislative assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav also made similar accusations with regard to probe in fodder scam cases.

"The fodder scam was going on since 1977 and LaluJi became CM in 1990. It was him who first said about the anomaly in fodder funds withdrawal in 1995. But the CBI investigation has not touched all previous CMs and Jagganath Mishra has been acquitted. It clearly shows that LaluJi is being falsely implicated in the fodder scam cases out of political conspiracy of BJP," Tejashwi said, adding that his party and family respect the judicial system and hope that Lalu would get free of the charges soon.

The former Bihar deputy CM also claimed that there is no rift in RJD following Lalu's conviction. "Nobody in RJD is Palturam like Nitish. Besides, most senior functionaries in the party have seen me right from my childhood. Thus, we are all a family and stand united," Tejashwi said.
