New Delhi:PM NarendraModi brought some lighter moments to the swearing-in ceremony of newly formed BJP government in Gujarat at Gandhinagarby asking Bihar deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi whether the marriage of his son UtkarshTahthagat was held in a peaceful manner as RJD chiefLalu Prasad's elder son TejPratap Yadav had threatened to disrupt it.
PM Modi, BJP Amit Shah and CMs of 18 BJP- ruled states participated in the oath-taking ceremony of the new government led by Vijay Rupani. PM Modi greeted all 18 CMs and other dignitaries including SuMo as they stood on the dais upon his arrival.
"TejPratapkidhamkikebawjoodshadibadhiya se ho gaina. (The marriage function went well despite TejPratap's threat?)," SuMo quoted PM Modi asking him.
Earlier, TejPratap had said in a public meet at Aurangabad district in Bihar on November 22: "I've been invited by Modi to attend his son's wedding. If I go there, I will expose him in public. Uskegharmeinghuskarmaarenge, ussshaadimeinvahinsabhakarenge, todphodkarenge (will thrash him inside his house, hold a public meeting at the marriage venue and vandalise things)."
SuMo later said he had to change the venue for his marriage from ShakhaMaidan at Rajendra Nagar in Patna to Veterinary College ground owing to a request from bride's family for avoiding any untoward incident following Tej's threat.
The marriage of SuMo's son Utkarsh was solemnised in a simple ceremony sans Band- Baja- Baraat at Patna's veterinary college ground on December 3. No dowry was taken for the wedding and gifts were also not accepted from the guests.
