New Delhi: Prime Minister NarendraModi will hold 20 more rallies before Gujarat goes to the polls in Bharuch, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Rajkot and Surendranagar,Dharmpur and Junagadh. Seven of these will be on Friday and Saturday.

On Friday, he will attend three rallies, apart from a digital interaction with women. The PM will also attend the inauguration of a hospital of the Swaminarayan sect on Friday.

Thousands of women workers will get to speak directly with Modi in a tech-infused outreach. BJP’s election in-charge BhupendraYadav said the PM would interact with female karyakartas through the app in an attempt to “show the party’s appreciation for the work done by women”.

For the purpose, the women will have to download the Modi app that would enable video chatting. Yadav said the idea was to inspire women and encourage them to vote for BJP.

He said that the party was focused on women’s welfare and had more women candidates than Congress. The rallies are centredaround places where BJP feels it needs a push from the PM. Surendranagar with five seats, for example, is witnessing a tough fight. In Surendranagar, Congress is relying on the outreach of Somabhai Patel who has won the seat multiple times.

Similarly, Bharuch is the stronghold of Congress’ Ahmed Patel. The PM’s visit is also meant to send a positive message to Jain voters of Wadhwan in Surendranagar.

Some members of the community were upset after VarshabenDoshi, MLA, was replaced. In Chotila too BJP has replaced its MLA with a candidate from the Koli Patel community.
