Actors are often praised for their dedication and commitment to their craft. Actors like Aamir Khan, Christian Bale, and Randeep Hooda have surprised fans with their drastic transformations for their movies.
For the uninitiated, Aamir Khan has undergone a major physical transformation for his film Ghajini (2008). The actor gained praise for his eight-pack abs.
Aamir spent 13 months bulking his body up for the film, which eventually turned out to be a blockbuster. He achieved the same for his mega-blockbuster Dangal. For the movie, Aamir juggled between playing the role of a middle-aged father with a growing belly and that of a fit wrestler.
While these actors paint a rosy picture for fans, the reality is sometimes darker than one can ever imagine.
To play the titular role in his upcoming movie, The Legend of Maula Jatt, Fawad Khan had to bulk up and put on many kilos. He fluctuated between 73 and 75 kg and 100 kg for the role.
The actor admitted that Aamir Khan and Christian Bale inspired him to turn into a fighter, but now he regrets how he approached it as it landed him in the hospital.
While promoting his upcoming movie, Fawad spoke to 'Something Haute' and exposed the dark side of drastic physical transformations. Fawad said,
"It is not the best thing I did for myself. I would never do that again. I just made some questionable choices, which negatively affected me. There is a dark underbelly to all these physical transformations, and people should know that making these decisions is taking a huge toll on their health. And it happened. Ten days into it, I was hospitalized. My kidneys shut down."
